School Visits
Kate offers 30-minute school visits, best suited for Kindergarten-4th grade classrooms. Structured around children’s magazines, these visits are a joyful celebration of reading and writing. During the visit, students will be able to:

Enjoy hands-on exploration of magazines

Identify different forms of writing within magazines including fiction, nonfiction, poetry, recipes, and crafts

Describe the role of editor, author, and illustrator

Discuss the steps of writing from idea to publication
With dozens of published magazine articles and poems, Kate will also share some of her own work. And of course, every visit concludes with a fun opportunity for Q&A. Each year, Kate is happy to offer a limited number of free elementary school visits within a 20-mile radius of Allegan, MI.
